Textile management: stronger together
In 2025, together with our chain partners, we began implementing the collection and processing of textiles on behalf of our affiliated producers and importers. In this way, we are jointly building a future-proof national textile management structure that works for everyone and can meet the legal targets. These targets are clear: from 35% reuse and recycling to at least 50% in 2025, rising to 75% in 2030.
At the start of 2025, we developed a system for compensation, a recognition scheme, and a transparent monitoring system in collaboration with chain partners: the Vereniging Herwinning Textiel (VHT), Branchevereniging Kringloop Nederland (BKN), Vereniging Nederlandse Gemeenten (VNG) and Nederlandse gemeenten en publieke bedrijven (NVRD). The agreements were formalised in a framework agreement, forming the basis for arrangements with municipalities, collectors, sorters, thirift shops and recyclers for the collection, recycling and reuse of clothing and textiles.
This ensures an effective system where collectors, sorters and recyclers can focus on what they do best, while producers are fully supported. The chain in motion, the targets in sight.
