Harm van Veldhuizen appointed new Director of Stichting UPV Textiel

20 oktober 2026- We are pleased to welcome Harm van Veldhuizen as our new Director from 1 November 2026. He succeeds Sekhar Lahiri, who will be leaving the foundation after two years.

Van Veldhuizen brings extensive experience and is already familiar with the textile sector and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) through his previous role at Deventrade. He has held positions at organisations including the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce, ANWB, Telegraaf Media Groep and Deventrade. His background spans entrepreneurship, organisational development and bringing together public and private interests.

Continuing to build a strong EPR system together
With the appointment of our new Director, we will continue to build on the foundations established over recent years. In the period ahead, our focus will be on strengthening and further developing the EPR system and meeting increasingly ambitious statutory targets.

A key priority will be to foster even closer collaboration between producers, service providers, public authorities, industry associations and other partners across the textile value chain. Together, we are working towards an effective, future-proof and affordable system for textile collection, reuse and recycling.

The Board is confident that Harm’s experience, entrepreneurial approach and collaborative leadership style will guide the foundation successfully through its next phase.

Thank you to Sekhar Lahiri
We would like to thank Sekhar Lahiri for his dedication and commitment to the establishment and continued development of Stichting UPV Textiel. We wish him all the very best for the future.
